In this first stage, the catalogue focuses on the modern and contemporary architecture designed and built between 1832 –year of construction of the first industrial chimney in Barcelona that we establish as the beginning of modernity– until today.
The project is born to make the architecture more accessible both to professionals and to the citizens through a website that is going to be updated and extended. Contemporary works of greater general interest will be incorporated, always with a necessary historical perspective, while gradually adding works from our past, with the ambitious objective of understanding a greater documented period.
The collection feeds from multiple sources, mainly from the generosity of architectural and photographic studios, as well as the large amount of excellent historical and reference editorial projects, such as architectural guides, magazines, monographs and other publications. It also takes into consideration all the reference sources from the various branches and associated entities with the COAC and other collaborating entities related to the architectural and design fields, in its maximum spectrum.
Special mention should be made of the incorporation of vast documentation from the COAC Historical Archive which, thanks to its documental richness, provides a large amount of valuable –and in some cases unpublished– graphic documentation.
The rigour and criteria for selection of the works has been stablished by a Documental Commission, formed by the COAC’s Culture Spokesperson, the director of the COAC Historical Archive, the directors of the COAC Digital Archive, and professionals and other external experts from all the territorial sections that look after to offer a transversal view of the current and past architectural landscape around the territory.
The determination of this project is to become the largest digital collection about Catalan architecture; a key tool of exemplar information and documentation about architecture, which turns into a local and international referent, for the way to explain and show the architectural heritage of a territory.

Ajuntament i Govern espanyol financen un servei, preceptiu d’ençà del 1993, per a la recollida selectiva de residus, completat per una cotxera de l’empresa Musersa. En el no man’s land industrial, el projecte adopta una actitud radical i estricta: la topografia del solar i la diferència entre servei exterior i logística interna propicien la inserció d’un cos únic, vestit de planxa galvanitzada, que inclou la cotxera i els serveis administratius. Al davant, les andanes de classificació i llur zona de maniobra; a dins, el pati de maniobra dels vehicles. La pulcra construcció de les lluernes ortogonals i la cal·ligrafia de les trobades de planxa, portals, gàrgoles... són el llenguatge contingut d’un equipament econòmic que busca en la funció i en la construcció les regles per a un paisatge industrial possible.La Gamba Indoor Sports Complex

The project responds to the requirement to build a covered multi-sports track in front of an existing sports hall. The structure consists of a single bar that starts from the ground, curves to form the roof, rests on the old building and ends up flying above it. The surface of the new roof consists of a galvanised sheet supported by straps made of circular section tubes. Thus, the cover acts as a façade, although it does not touch the ground, but instead folds and forms a water collection channel that flows into a gravel receptacle. The order of the supports of the new roof is demarcated from the order of the supports of the existing pavilion, leaving a margin of displacement that emphasises the independence of the new construction. The final solution allows the transparency of the visuals at ground level, while recreating the atmosphere of an indoor space on the playground itself.La Fatarella

La concepció de l’alberg respon a la naturalesa peculiar de l’encàrrec: un equipament per allotjar qui vulgui gaudir del medi rural del lloc. L’edificació es construeix amb tècniques i materials autòctons: murs de pedra seca, murs i voltes de pedra carejada, pilastres de carreus de pedra, murs de pedra laminar. Per a les jàsseres i embigats, la fusta, com també per a la fusteria i els paviments. La ceràmica, per a les teules de la coberta i els revestiments. La casa també havia de respondre a un clar criteri d’aprofitament energètic: un pati interior genera ombra i afavoreix la ventilació creuada. Unes pèrgoles amb vegetació caduca permeten regular l’assolellada a l’hivern i a l’estiu. El sol de l’hivern genera l’efecte hivernacle a través d’uns grans finestrals. La base de la construcció aprofita els marges i les feixes preexistents, definint i completant tres plataformes que ja hi havia a la topografia originària.Premis Bonaplata

Petit barri de sutura entre nuclis dispersos dels anys cinquanta a setanta, planejat a finals del s. xx amb quatre illes plurifamiliars i unifamiliars de promoció pública. El projecte es dol d’unes rígides premisses urbanístiques i programàtiques, s’eleva lleugerament de la rasant per ordenar l’accés i l’aparcament soterrat, delinea unes plantes pis homogènies i malda per obtenir la millor economia en l’ordre estructural i els tipus d’habitatge. El centre d’assistència primària queda inserit en un teixit urbà de gra petit i dispers, i la seva volumetria dóna resposta a aquestes condicions de l’entorn. És format per dos cossos de dimensions diferents, paral·lels al carrer principal i separats per un pati. El cos baix és situat a l’interior de l’illa per tal d’encaixar-se amb les mitgeres veïnes a la mateixa alçada. L’accés té lloc pel pati que queda entre tots dos cossos. El programa de consultes es troba a les dues plantes superiors del cos alt. L’àrea d’atenció continuada i educació sanitària i personal es troben al cos baix. Les activitats d’horari continuat es fan a la planta baixa, de manera que es poden desenvolupar mentre la resta del centre roman tancat. El pati central afavoreix la creació d’un microclima intern i permet situar cada ús en la millor posició en façana. Totes les zones de treball es troben a la banda nord, mentre que les zones d’espera queden situades a les façanes que donen al sud.Germans Soler House

The building is located between two collective housing estates: on the south partition with a ground floor and four storeys and on the north partition with a ground floor and three storeys. On the plot to be built on, the regulations allowed a depth of 16 m and a height of ground floor and two storeys. The surface area required for the programme of both dwellings was less than the maximum regulatory volume, which meant that the depth was not exhausted and could be adjusted to the neighbouring alignments. The virtual volume is excavated to achieve successive terraces facing southwest, which extend the dwellings towards good solar and visual orientations. The roof, with the ridge parallel to the street, is cut out over the collective terrace, the courtyard of the neighbouring property, and the terraces and porches of the inner façade of the block. The skin of the building recognises the possibility of filtering these recesses by using, on different levels, the building envelope, the glazing, the lattices and the string shutters.Rehabilitació de Cal Ros i Cal Moro

Es tracta d'un projecte de rehabilitació integral, on la volumetria ha de mantenir la seva configuració original, formada per dues cases adossades Cal Ros i Cal Moro, i un cobert tancat a tres cares. La substitució de la coberta permet regularitzar la seva geometria i reconfigurar el porxo, que com a extensió de la sala estableix una nova relació amb l'era orientada a sud-est. El programa manté la independència de les dues cases amb una nova escala interior que comunica les dues plantes i dona sentit comunitari a tot el conjunt, format pels dos habitatges en planta baixa i les futures ampliacions en planta inferior, amb accés independent des de la vinya. La consolidació estructural consisteix en una estructura metàl·lica a l'interior dels murs de pedra, i nous forjats amb biguetes i revoltons de formigó vist. Tot i l'acabat tradicional amb morter de calç per als tancaments exteriors, s'opta per trasdossar l'interior amb aïllament i taulells de viroc donant més confort a les estances.Mostres d'Arquitectura (Alt Penedès i Garraf)
