In this first stage, the catalogue focuses on the modern and contemporary architecture designed and built between 1832 –year of construction of the first industrial chimney in Barcelona that we establish as the beginning of modernity– until today.
The project is born to make the architecture more accessible both to professionals and to the citizens through a website that is going to be updated and extended. Contemporary works of greater general interest will be incorporated, always with a necessary historical perspective, while gradually adding works from our past, with the ambitious objective of understanding a greater documented period.
The collection feeds from multiple sources, mainly from the generosity of architectural and photographic studios, as well as the large amount of excellent historical and reference editorial projects, such as architectural guides, magazines, monographs and other publications. It also takes into consideration all the reference sources from the various branches and associated entities with the COAC and other collaborating entities related to the architectural and design fields, in its maximum spectrum.
Special mention should be made of the incorporation of vast documentation from the COAC Historical Archive which, thanks to its documental richness, provides a large amount of valuable –and in some cases unpublished– graphic documentation.
The rigour and criteria for selection of the works has been stablished by a Documental Commission, formed by the COAC’s Culture Spokesperson, the director of the COAC Historical Archive, the directors of the COAC Digital Archive, and professionals and other external experts from all the territorial sections that look after to offer a transversal view of the current and past architectural landscape around the territory.
The determination of this project is to become the largest digital collection about Catalan architecture; a key tool of exemplar information and documentation about architecture, which turns into a local and international referent, for the way to explain and show the architectural heritage of a territory.

The Arxiu Històric del Col·legi d'Arquitectes de Catalunya is one of the most important documentation centers in Europe, which houses the professional collections of more than 180 architects whose work is fundamental to understanding the history of Catalan architecture.
By filling this form, you can request digital copies of the documents for which the Arxiu Històric del Col·legi d'Arquitectes de Catalunya manages the exploitation of the author's rights, as well as those in the public domain.

Vinseum is located in the historic center of Vilafranca del Penedés, with its main facade facing Plaça Jaume I, in front of the Basilica de Santa Maria.
The new wine museum, is born from an heteregeneus set of existing buildings. The project preserves and rehabilitates the old Palau Reial and the Capella de Sant Pelegrí, and integrates them into the new museum complex, wich is presided by the new building. The construction of this new volume between the Palau and the Capella defines an access passage to the lobby of the new museum, located in the center of the building, where it is directly connected to all the diferent levels. The set is included in the catalog of Historical and Environmental Heritage of the city. It is a building that responds to the uses and characteristics of a museum of the s. XXI, being an urban reference in the historical fabric and a cultural forum. With flexible facilities for the independent and simultaneous performance of activities of artistic and social interest.
Gothic palace with façade to two streets. The main one faces Plaça de Jaume I and the side one faces Carrer de Sant Bernat. It consists of a ground floor, a main floor and an attic, with an Arabic tile roof. On the façades, vaulted semi-circular arch doors and windows of various types (transom window, semi-circular arch and attic windows) open. The inner courtyard has a staircase leading to the first floor, Gothic windows, high gallery with pointed arches and attics. Its current appearance corresponds to the restoration carried out on the occasion of the adaptation of the building as a museum. Within a criterion of conservation of the primitive structure, new elements have been introduced.
In 1907, Bishop Josep Torras i Bages had a marble tombstone placed on the façade that reads:
"On the night of the 11th / of November of the year / MCCLXXXV, the / King Peter III of Aragon / great for his glorious / military history and for / the political freedom / that he established in the / Catalan land died like this ".
The Royal Palace is located in the most important historical-monumental centre of Vilafranca. Documented from the beginning of the 13th century, it was given to Fructià de Palau by Jaume I (1236). King Pere III died there on November 11, 1285. In 1308 it became the property of the monastery of Santes Creus, a situation that remained until the confiscation of 1835, the year in which it was acquired at public auction by Cristòfol Milà i Romagosa. The building was dedicated to various activities, such as a tavern, known as Cal Noi-noi and as a hostel. In the 1930s the Milà family put the building up for sale and in 1939 it was acquired by the Trust of the Vilafranca Museum. The Board of Trustees undertook restoration and reconstruction works that have not been interrupted. The most remarkable are the restoration project by Jeroni Martorell (1944) and the extension in 1975. In 1941, the Gothic window facing Carrer de Sant Bernat was discovered. It is home to the Vilafranca Museum and the Wine Museum.
